Megan’s Birthday celebration at school
Sunday, January 14th, 2007The great big slide at Bridgette’s party
Sunday, August 13th, 2006These are some pictures of the kids going down the slide. There aren’t any of me thankfully, because I lost a bit of my swimsuit when I hit the pool of water at the bottom. I think it was my day for some humble pie, I also wanted to rig up another hose around the front of the house, and so my usual path is to just hop over the five foot fence. Now I’ve done this many times before, but on this particular occasion (and I didn’t think anyone was watching since this was around the side of the house), and I hopped and as I was about to go over, my toe hooked on the fence enough to spin me around so that my back faced the ground. My toe unhooked and I plummeted to the earth landing flat on my back. I must say, I think it did wonders for my back, but I did hop up rather fast, trying to walk in such a way that my throbbing toe would not be noticed. So, I casually walk around through the gate on the opposite side of the house expecting that no one would have noticed, but everyone knew by then. Oh well, at least we all had a good laugh.
The slide was a bast, and constructed much better than last year, it required zero maintenance during the four or so hours of operation.
Bridgettes fourth birthday party!
Sunday, August 13th, 2006We seem to have a pretty good theme going for Bridgette’s birthday party each year. Brian sets up this huge slip-and-slide which the kids just love (and the Daddies too, well perhaps only me this time). I’m not sure how large this tarp was that Brian used, but it was really big, perhaps 30×50 feet? Bridgette had a really good time, she had some new friends over this year (mostly from school), and she was very impressed with her gifts.
Bridgette is growing up fast, she’s such a little doll, and she’s quite pleased to be four years old, sometimes I think it gets to her that she’s the youngest. Bridgette also had her ears pierst as part of her gift. She was very brave, after the first one, she gave a little wimper which ended abruptly and was ready for the next ear. Her first pair of earings were this cute little flowers which suit her so well. We gave Megan the choice too, and she was all psyched up until she heard Bridgette’s wimper and thats when she decided she would wait until she’s fourteen.

Sunday, July 17th, 2005Megan’s 4th Birthday Party
Friday, January 7th, 2005Megan has been quite excited about her fourth birthday, now she can eat things in groups of four instead of three.
She politely requests having three carrots, three pancakes, three pancakes etc. I suppose she’s going to grow a lot more in her fourth year. Megan got to invite all her favorite friends. She was quite pleased to have picked the friends that would attend her birthday celebrations. Megan got quite a lot of assistance opening her gifts. Hannah, Mia and Madeline were gracious enough to assist with the unrwapping of the gifts. Megan chose the theme of Strawberry shortcake for her party. There was even strawberry cake, strawberry hats and everything was pink (except where it involed the boys).
What more could a girl ask for. This last picture shows Megan’s three helpers. We had the party at a bowling alley, and most of the kids hadn’t bowled before so it was quite exciting. Some of the adults hadn’t bowled before either.
Bowling on Megan’s 4th Birthday
Friday, January 7th, 2005
Some of our bowlers… we didn’t get everyone on film, but this was some of the team of about 14 children and 9 adults. It’s was quite a lot of fun. Baby Simon also pretended to be a human bowling ball and went for a trip down the alley only to be stopped from actually bumping over the pins by Eileen who bravely lept to save Simon (injuring herself in the process). Everyone enjoyed the bowling, I don’t think anyone finished, but some of the guys (myself, Brian and Brett) managed to chalk up a few frames for the kids. Aunty Tammy quite enjoyed the bowling too… uh where is Aunty Tammy? This was Uncle Brett’s first time bowling too. We think he had lots of fun, even if he had to jump over little toddlers all the time.
Here are some movies to:
1) Megan’s bowling dance (600kb)
2) Jack goes blowing (600kb)
3) Xavier goes bowling
Gina’s birthday
Thursday, December 30th, 2004
Happy birthday Gina! For Gina’s birthday we went to celebrate at Ruby Tuesdays - a new restaurant in Cottage Grove. The desert was really really large, and we split each desert amongst five people. Tannie Gina was feeding Megan and Bridgette their desert. Jaques and Wilhelm have certainly found a new friend and get along really well with Brett. I think they had some interesting discussions about GameBoys and Lord of the Rings.
