Here are some topics that hopefully fill in the details you would like to hear about as they describe Troy:
1) Mentoring developers – Troy has been more then helpful in this area. I have continuously pounded him with questions throughout our redesign here at Marvins and he has been nothing but great in his responses. He knows his stuff very well but never acts like it’s a routine task you’re asking him about. I’ve had teachers at college, who you would think would be mentors to all students, that don’t handle the questions like Troy can. To sum this one up: He has always been very helpful when asking questions and helps you learn what you’re asking instead of just giving you the answer. So you learn from the situation instead of just fill in the blank on the task at hand.
2) Assisting – Troy has always been very helpful in working on tasks. I know I personally ask him about 10 or more questions a day about a task I’m working on and he gets back to you with an answer very quickly. If part of the reason the particular code I’m working on won’t work is because of a bug in code he wrote, it’s usually fixed within an hour or that day if it’s a really hard one to track down. He’s always been more then willing to help out and is very easy to approach with questions or requests for help on pieces of code. I’ve also witnessed him answering multiple people with totally different tasks back to back. I’ll finish up a question or getting help with some code and Jay will be waiting for me to finish so he can get help and then Dale will ask him another question. I’ve haven’t noticed him have to take a minute to get his mind off the last topic or get in the right frame of mind to answer the next question. You can tell he has a very firm grasp of the overall project and it adds comfort when you need help that he will be able to give you the right answer.
3) Team Player – Troy has been a great team player. I’ve never seen him turn someone down when they ask for help in the time I’ve had the pleasure of working with him. Our task is his task is the feeling you get when working with him. I don’t know what else to say other then you know that Troy is someone you can depend on in the group and is more then able to pull his own weight (and just about everyone else’s in the group  )
4) Providing technical guidance / best practice – There have been many times I have asked Troy about which method is best to use in the case of ___. He has not only given the method to use, but why it is a better solution so you know for the next time. I don’t know if it’s a programmer’s habit, but I know I am usually skeptical of an answer someone gives me. Being able to not just give you the right answer, but give you the logical reasoning behind why he believes that is the best way to do it helps make you comfortable with the end choice. He also seems to be the human form of the MSDN library.
5) Easy to work with / not so easy to work with – Troy is very easy to work with. He keeps an upbeat attitude with him at all times. Always seems to be smiling about something when you go to talk to him. Having as much knowledge as he does about software development and not coming across as a know it all is amazing to me. I’ve gained a lot of respect for him not only as a member of our team but as a person in general.
6) Understanding of the business problems – It was pretty awesome to see how fast Troy picked up the way Marvin does their business. From the very start when Peg and Troy came up to Marvins and were doing the survey of what the project would entail, he has seemingly soaked in everything we have thrown at him. There are a lot of rules to how we build windows, people would be pretty amazed that so many rules are in place when you quote one of our windows, and Troy just keeps taking it in. He has displayed his growing knowledge of the system we want to build and how it needs to work on many occasions so you can tell it’s not just going in one ear and out the other.
As an overall thought of how it has been to work with Troy:
It has been nothing but a pleasure. Our MQS group has had many talks as we have been walking out the door at night about how great it has been to have him on the project. We would truly be lost if he wasn’t a part of it. His ability to have the big picture in the back of his mind while being able to pick apart all of the small details when you ask about them is just amazing to me. He has been an invaluable asset to our team in the redesign and I’m sure you guys feel the same way at Magenic. - Senior Devloper, Client

Troy has been nothing short of fantastic to work with. He is extremely easy to work with, knowledgeable, and friendly. He has raised my expectations of what a consultant should be and provide for services. Troy has been the glue that is holding the project together. He is a quick study of the business and the vision for the project. It really has been my privilege to work with Troy on this project, and to be frank, I believe there is no one better for his position in this project. I can not say enough good things about Troy, and the way that Troy represents Magenic. Troy is a enormous asset to Magenic team, in my humble opinion. - Project Manager, Marvin Windows
